Who are we? Why are we here?

This webpage is for the informal household known as Silverchannel, which consists of those of us who regularly chat on the Undernet irc network in the #SCA chat channel. Please feel free to join us, we'd love to see you there. You can find all manner of information on how to reach us by clicking on the IRC Help link in the menu above, or by visiting the Forums and posting a request for help there.

We've moved over to a new server, and Ulf is doing a bang-up job in having the stats up to date.  I've added a link in the menu bar for the channel statistics.   Hopefully we'll have more updates in the near future, but for now, enjoy.

There's a thread in the forum asking where people are camping this year at Pennsic if you're attending - so if you are attending, please post in the thread with where you're going to be camping. Hope to see you there!

I've updated various bits of the website such as the Gallery and forum software.  The gallery in particular is a real improvement, as you can now upload your own picture with a caption and other information for it.  I hope you enjoy it, and please let me know if you can think of any improvements that I might make.

I'm pleased to announce that the website is finally, for lack of a better term, completed.  This front page will now serve as a source for the latest channel-related news and events updates, and just a general sounding board.  Remember to email me if you happen to have any news you need posted.

The website currently has the following to offer you:

• Forums -  A place where you can participate in discussions that aren't quite real-time.  A little more room for thought in the discussions exists here, and they also allow you to talk with someone who you might have missed online.
• Gallery -  The photo galleries allow you to upload photographs of your latest garb, pictures of the melee from the last big war you were at, or any SCA-related pictures that you find interesting.
• Mailing List -  Yet another way to talk to your fellow SCA'ers.  A full-featured mailing list that avoids all the advertising crap associated with services like Yahoo!.  And that's a good thing.

Aside from these features, you can also find our rules and some general help with IRC on the link bar at the top of the page.  If you have any suggestions or feel that we've forgotten something, please feel free to email us at webmaster@silver-channel.com and let us know what you think.
